Neck and Shoulders Workshop – Mar. 30th
Many of us suffer from weakness, pain or general tightness in the shoulders and neck. Daily activities, habits, and poor posture can compromise shoulder alignment and exaggerate the curves of the upper back and neck.
In this workshop, students will practice poses that address these areas with correct alignment and develop a greater awareness of how to move with proper form, resulting in less discomfort and more freedom in the neck and shoulders.

Advancing Your Practice with Don – first Saturday of the month
Join Don on the first Saturday of every month from 10:30am-12:30pm for these workshops designed to help you build your home practice.
April’s focus will be on the rope wall. The rope wall was first developed and refined by B.K.S. Iyengar. The rope wall is an effective prop to help with proper alignment and as an aid to go deeper into a pose. The ropes work by using gravity as a natural form of resistance, causing the body to open much further than in regular yoga practice. The rope wall can also help to reduce tension in the spine and provide both length and support for poses.
Students should have at least one year of steady Iyengar yoga and be able to practice inversions on their own. This study workshop is meant to help facilitate a home practice. One’s sensitivity in the postures increases on a physical, organic (physiological), mental and spiritual level when a home practice is firmly established. Some of the benefits of self-study are not only physical, but mental and emotional as well. In these monthly workshops, we’ll study fundamentals needed to achieve success in different groups of asanas – standing poses, seated poses, forward bends, inversions, backbends, abdominal poses, twists and restorative/supported poses. Each month, the workshop will have a different focus.
This 2-hour workshop will be held on Saturday, Apr. 7th, from 10:30am-12:30pm and costs $30 if paid in advance or $35 on day of class. Download this flyer for more info or contact us for more details.
